I am currently writing an article on how early modern authors encounter and document breath as a marker of racial difference. I am also working on a pilot project titled Breathing Differently: Breath and Social Justice in the Community that seeks to bring together academics and yoga and theatre practitioners to think about how breath can restore a sense of social justice and create inclusive spaces in a world that feels increasingly asphyxiating.
