Current Projects:

Book project: Performing Gardens, under contract with Palgrave for the ‘Performing Landscapes’ series. The garden as a space of performance in England and India. Book project: Co-editor with Victoria Hunter, The Routledge Companion to Site-Specific Performance, due out in 2024. BA small research grant: Taking Tea (exeter.ac.uk), with Jerri Daboo (CI); Gill Juleff (CI) and consultants Nadine Vanniasinkam (ICES Sri Lanka) and Tathagata Neogi (Immersive Trails, India). Project concerned with the cultural histories of tea production, with particular attention to songs and performance. AHRC IAA grant with National Trust Trengwainton, building on a research seed fund held by Fridy Duterloo (NT), looking at Cornish histories of plant collecting and interpreting these through performance. AHRC KE grant ‘Creative Peninsula’ PI Tom Trevor. I was CI on this working with Evelyn O’Malley (also CI) to lead the ‘Outdoor Cultures’ strand. Creative Peninsula → Programme Index. AHRC Covid-19 Rapid Response Grant, ‘Outside the Box: Open Air Performance as Pandemic Response’, led by Evelyn O’Malley. I was CI on this, co-curating performances. Outdoor Cultures – Open Air Performance, Environment and Wellbeing.
