My PhD is on perspectives and persecution of corvids (birds of the crow family) throughout British history and prehistory, with particular exploration of the origins of modern conflicts and persecution debates. I am especially keen to demonstrate how (zoo)archaeological research can inform and assist modern environmental advocacy when it comes to animal (primarily bird) conservation, as well as how our relationships with nature more broadly have come to be by studying human-animal relationships, perceptions and biases throughout the past.
