My PhD project looks at the relationship between the emergence of the New Woman and the professionalism of women illustrators in the commercial art marketplace. I am also interested in the New Woman’s visual representation and how women illustrators contributed to this representation. More broadly, my research interests include women artists, print and exhibition culture, photography, and fashion.
